Diversity & Accessibility

Huge inequalities in the UK make it hard for many people from disadvantaged communities to visit and benefit from the special landscapes here in the Yorkshire Dales. Our outreach project DALES helps to tackle the barriers that prevent people from accessing and enjoying the countryside, and make everyone feel welcome.

Restoring species–rich wildflower meadows

We work closely with landowners and other partners to help reverse the loss of hay meadows. And we are not alone, the appetite for restoring and creating meadows is growing. Working together we have the chance to repair and restore our precious wildflower meadows for future generations.
